I began using Bloglovin' to organize and search the blogs that I want to read. I like Bloglovin' best because it allows me to read my blogs through the app that is available on all my devices.
Here are some blogs that I follow.
Abby the Librarian (abbythelibrarian.com) because she has some great ideas for children. Her latest post is about summer reading prizes that are simple to make.
The Daring Librarian (thedaringlibrarian.com) has great ideas on coping with life as a teacher-librarian. Her latest post is about getting along with a new principal. A post that I might find valuable because SHS will be getting a new principal this year!
TLT, Teen Librarian Toolbox (teenlibrariantoolbox.com) has book reviews and new releases for both middle and high school readers.
The Mighty Little Librarian (mightylittlelibrarian.com) talks about things going on in her middle school library. I like some of her idea, like teaching the students digital citizenship.
The ALSC (alsc.ala.org/blog) gives some good advice on storytelling in the latest blog posts. I need ideas for all age levels!
TUMBLR
I have a tumblr account. I have had it for a few years. I originally opened it to follow my daughter when she was posting from college.
My account is (http://thepamme.tumblr.com/). It is mostly just for fun things I find online.
I am currently following 14 blogs on tumblr. Some of them are personal, but most of them have something to do with the library.
I think librarians use Tumblr to get fresh new ideas and to add a sense of humor to our jobs. I also have found some great articles on School Library Journal.
I want to end with this picture found on School Library Journal Tumblr. I'm sure they loved Shel Silverstein as much as I did!
